cat about.txt

I’m Zain, a Tinkerer who enjoys building things close to the metal and close to the user. I work across embedded systems, web infrastructure, automation, and performance-focused software.

I’m drawn to projects where the details matter: custom hardware, low-latency systems, clean interfaces, weird tooling, and products that do one thing well.

High Performance Limit Order Book

Engineered a low-latency limit order book in C++ that models exchange-grade matching logic, supporting limit/market orders, cancellations, price-time priority, and real-time best bid/ask updates. Optimized core data structures for fast order lookup, matching, and book maintenance, demonstrating strong command of market microstructure, systems programming, and performance-oriented design for quantitative trading infrastructure.

Reaper — Agentic Web Data Platform

Built Reaper, a website-to-API platform that uses a browser agent to crawl dynamic web pages, examine network activity, and infer which XHR/fetch requests return the underlying structured data. Designed the extraction pipeline to replay validated source requests directly as reusable REST endpoints, reducing reliance on brittle DOM parsing, headless browser sessions, and slow page-render workflows.
